Purpose

The position will be responsible for all cost functions as assigned by the Topsides Project Controls Manager. The project office is located in St. John's, NL. This position will be located at Bull Arm construction facility in Bull Arm, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work defined by the contract
  • Prepare and update summary cash flow information
  • Responsible for change management processes including trends, budget shifts and change orders
  • Prepare detailed and summary Cost Control Reports that provide information on the status of costs (planned, actual, committed, forecast, etc.) and provide analysis of data as required
  • Monitor and analyze subcontractor cost expenditures, and prepare Sensitivity Analysis for Management
  • Analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, recommend solutions or recovery plans to schedule/cost impact or delays, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management
  • Coordinate estimate development with the Project Estimator
  • Provide Status of Reserves and Contingencies
  • Provide meaningful, accurate historical data
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience as a Cost Specialist for a medium to large sized project
  • Has served as an Area Lead Cost on similar medium to large reimbursable construction projects and provides direct oversight supervision to S/C’s team of Project Controls personnel, as required
  • Practical experience in the use of the automated cost management systems
  • Unwavering support of HSE philosophies and programs at site and in the office
  • Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Must be willing to work extended work schedule/hours as required
  • Participate in business development activities and promote a professional and business-like relationship with the client
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, and Training Required:

Business or Engineering undergraduate degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
