Supreme Modular Fabrication Inc. (SMFI) is a Canadian-based company specializing in fabrication and module assembly across Canada. SMFI owns, operates, and delivers a full range of unique module assembly and fabrication services and is a proven supplier to Canada’s rich energy and resource development industries. We are currently seeking a motivated and highly competent individual to fill the position of Project Controls Manager at our modular yard located in Acheson, Alberta. The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for all cost management functions as assigned by the General Manager.
The Project Controls Manager will monitor the financial progress of all projects, ensure the scheduling functions integrate with control methods, produce extensive reporting, manage the project control team, and will liaise with project management and clients on control related matters. Further duties include but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain the cost management program for establishing baselines and systems for the business
Responsible for architecture and development of cost reporting systems
Ensure the team can produce sufficient reconciliation between accounting and cost reporting systems
Development and scrutiny of budget establishment
Team management functions, including ensuring the team has:
Overall responsibility and accountability for timely & accurate cost coding of all purchase order requisitions, subcontracts and labor
Timely and accurate submission of project forecast as required by fiscal reporting calendar
Timely and accurate submission of client reports as required
Timely variance analysis and an will communicate early warning to management on cost variances to the approved baseline/forecast. Provide corrective action plans as required.
Tracking of change management for all related items. This will also include overseeing the management of the change log and reconciliation into the cost reporting system.
The successful candidate will be a college/university graduate or equivalent combination of technical skills and experience. This individual will be knowledgeable in progress measurement techniques and earned value calculations, a team player, innovative thinker, and have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Controls, with 4 years in a leadership capacity. The candidate must be reliable, produce accurate reports, have exceptional communication and motivation skills and advanced skills in Microsoft programs.
