Introduction

Are you the Technical Product Development Specialist with strong formulation experience and running trials in fluids separation in the Heavy Oil industry we are looking for?

Organization

Our client is a global leader in the field of specialty chemicals. They are represented with over 100 companies on 5 continents and employ over 20,000 people. 

With it's headquarters in the United States, the Oil & Mining Services Business Unit provides products and services to the mining, refinery and oil industries. The Canadian Oil & Mining division is a fast growing division and besides nice challenges for experienced candidates, it offers good working conditions and growing possibilities.

Currently they are looking for a Technical Specialist for their Canadian Business Unit who has a strong understanding of Fluid Separation to develop products for new application and improve current products.

Function

Within this position, the Technical Specialist will be hands-on in creating or modifying existing formulations for fluid separation. Other responsibilities include:

  • Designing and performing tests at clients sites to develop REB's and EB's based on system characteristics
  • Run and manage field trails at client sites
  • Work with clients in order to gather accurate information regarding tests and provide solutions 
  • Mentor and guide other team members during site visits
  • Provide input in the development of material for both internal and external training programs
  • Closely work together with other departments within the organization

Requirements

In regards to the background of the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • Experience within the Heavy Oil Industry in Canada (heavy bottle testing)
  • Strong formulation experience with running trials
  • CHOPS (Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand) experience
  • Strong technical sales skills experience 
  • Eligible to work in Canada

Because of the nature of the position, willingness and ability to travel is required.
